KJV: But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
NASB: But this I say, brethren, the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none;
KJV: And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
NASB: and those who use the world, as though they did not make full use of it; for the form of this world is passing away.
KJV: And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
NASB: This I say for your own benefit; not to put a restraint upon you, but to promote what is appropriate and to secure undistracted devotion to the Lord.
KJV: Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
NASB: But he who stands firm in his heart, being under no constraint, but has authority over his own will, and has decided this in his own heart, to keep his own virgin daughter, he will do well.
KJV: But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
NASB: But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.
KJV: Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,
NASB: My defense to those who examine me is this:
KJV: Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
NASB: I am not speaking these things according to human judgment, am I? Or does not the Law also say these things?
KJV: If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
NASB: If others share the right over you, do we not more? Nevertheless, we did not use this right, but we endure all things so that we will cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.
KJV: But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
NASB: But I have used none of these things. And I am not writing these things so that it will be done so in my case; for it would be better for me to die than have any man make my boast an empty one.
