KJV: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
NASB: "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
KJV: Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
NASB: "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.
KJV: Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
NASB: "Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?
KJV: And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

KJV: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
NASB: but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps.
KJV: And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
NASB: "The foolish said to the prudent, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'
KJV: But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
NASB: "But the prudent answered, 'No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'
KJV: And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
NASB: And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time?
KJV: And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
NASB: "And his master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.
KJV: For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
NASB: For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery-- so that you will not be wise in your own estimation-- that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;
