There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.

'No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether beast or man, he shall not live.' When the ram's horn sounds a long blast, they shall come up to the mountain."

"He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death.

If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.

"If what he stole is actually found alive in his possession, whether an ox or a donkey or a sheep, he shall pay double.

If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.
NASB:
"If the thief is not caught, then the owner of the house shall appear before the judges, to determine whether he laid his hands on his neighbor's property.
