1
And
the
Feast
of
Unleavened
Bread
,
called
Passover,
was drawing near.
2
And
the
chief priests
and
the
scribes
were seeking
how
the
the
y might put Him to death
; for
the
y were afraid of
the
people.
3
And
Satan
entered
into
Judas
the
one
being
called
Iscariot,
being
of the
number
of the Twelve.
4
And
having gone away,
he spoke with
the
chief priests
and
captains,
how
he might betray
Him to them.
5
And
they rejoiced
and
agreed
to give
him
money.
6
And
he promised,
and
began seeking
opportunity
to betray
Him to them
apart from
a
crowd.
7
And
the
day
of
Unleavened
Bread
came,
on
which
it was necessary for
the
Passover lamb
to be sacrificed.
8
And
He sent
Peter
and John, having said, Having gone,
prepare
the
Passover
for us,
that
we might eat
it
.
9
And
they said
to Him, Where
do You desire
we should prepare
it
?
10
And He said to them, Behold, of you having entered
into
the
city,
a man
carrying
a pitcher
of water
will meet
you.
Follow
him
into
the
house
into
which he enters,
11
and you shall say to the
master
of the
house,
The
Teacher
says
to you, Where is the
guest room,
where
I may eat the
Passover
with My disciples?
12
And he
will show
you
a large
furnished
upper room.
Prepare
it
there.
13
And
having gone,
they found
it
as
He had said to them, and
they prepared
the
P
as
sover.
14
And
when
the
hour
was come,
He reclined,
and the
apostles
with Him.
15
And He said to them, With desire
I have desired
to eat
this
Passover
with you
before
I
suffer.
16
For
I say
to you that
never again
will I eat thereof,
until
it is fulfilled
in the
kingdom
of God.
17
And
having received
the
cup,
having given thanks,
He said, Take
this
and
divide
it
among
yourselves.
18
For
I say
to you that
I will not drink
of the fruit of the vine from
now
until
the
kingdom
of God
shall come.
19
And
having taken
the
bread,
having given thanks,
He broke
it
and
gave
to them,
saying,
This is My
body,
which
is given
for you;
do
this
in
remembrance
of Me,
20
and
the
cup
likewise,
after
hav
in
g supped,
say
in
g, This
cup
is
the new
covenant
in
My
blood,
which is be
in
g poured out for you.
21
But,
behold,
the
hand
of him
betraying
Me
is
with
Me
on the
table.
22
For
indeed
the
Son
of
Man
goes
according to that
having been determined.
But
woe
to that
man
by
whom
He is betrayed.
23
And they began
to question
among
themselves
who
then of them it might be
who
is about
to do
this.
24
And
there was
also
a dispute
among
them
which
of them
is thought
to be
the
greatest.
25
And He said to them, The
kings
of the
Gentiles
rule over
them, and those
exercising authority over
them
are called
benefactors.
26
But you
shall
not
be
thus.
Instead, the
greatest
among
you,
let him be
as
the
younger;
and the
one
leading,
as
the
one
serving.
27
F
or
who
is
greater,
the
one
recl
in
in
g
or
the
one
serv
in
g?
Is
not the
one
recl
in
in
g
?
But I
am
in
your midst as the
One
serv
in
g.
28
Now you are
those
having remained
with Me in My
trials.
29
And I
appoint
to you
a kingdom,
as
My
Father
appoint
ed
to Me,
30
so that
you may eat
and
may drink
at My
table
in My
kingdom,
and
may sit
on
thrones,
judging
the
twelve
tribes
of
Israel.
31
Simon, Simon,
behold,
Satan
demanded to have
all of you
to sift
like
wheat.
32
But
I begged for you, that your
faith
may not fail.
And you,
when
you have turned back,
strengthen
your brothers.
33
And he said to Him, Lord,
I am
ready
to go
with You
both
to
prison
and to death.
34
And He said, I tell you Peter,
the
rooster
will not
crow
today
until
you will deny
three times
knowing Me.
35
And He said to them, When
I sent
you
without
purse
and
bag
and
sandals,
did you lack
anything? And
they said,
Nothing.
36
And He said to them, But
no
w,
the
one
having
a purse,
let him take
it
,
and
likewise
a bag;
and
the
one
having
no
sword,
let him sell
his
cloak
and
buy
one
.
37
For
I say
to you that
this
which
has been written,
it behooves
to be accomplished
in Me: And
He was reckoned
with
the
lawless. For also the things
concerning
Me
have
an end.
38
And
they said, Lord, behold, here
are
two
swords.
And
He said to them, It is enough.
39
And
having gone forth,
He went
according to the
custom
to the
Mount
of Olives,
and the
disciples
also
followed
Him.
40
And
having come
to the
place,
He said to them, Pray not
to enter
into temptation.
41
And He
withdrew
from
the
m
about
a stones
throw,
and
having fallen on
the
knees, He was praying,
42
saying, Father,
if
You are willing,
take away
this
cup
from Me.
Yet
not My
will,
but
Yours
be done.
43
And
an angel
from
heaven
appeared
to Him,
strengthening
Him.
44
And
hav
in
g been
in
agony,
He was pray
in
g
more earnestly. And His
sweat
became
like
great drops
of blood
fall
in
g down
upon the
ground.
45
And
having risen up
from the
prayer,
having come
to the
disciples,
He found
them
sleeping
from the
grief.
46
And He said to them, Why
are you sleeping?
Having risen up,
pray
that
you might not enter
into temptation.
47
While
He was still speaking, behold, a crowd, and he who
is called
Judas,
one
of the Twelve,
was going before
them, and
drew near
to Jesus
to kiss
Him.
48
And
Jesus
said to him, Judas,
are you betraying
the
Son
of Man
with a kiss?
49
And
those
around
Him,
having seen
what
would be,
said,
Lord,
should we strike
with
the
sword?
50
And a certain
one
of
them
struck
the
servant
of
the
high priest
and
cut off
his right
ear.
51
And
Jesus
answering
said, Allow you
thus
far! And having touched the ear,
He healed
him.
52
And
Jesus
said to those
having come out
against
Him,
the
chief priests,
and
captains
of the temple
and
elders, Have you come out with
swords
and
clubs
as
against
a robber?
53
Every
day of Me being with
you
in the temple,
you
did not stretch out
the
hands
against Me; but
this
is
you
r
hour,
and the
power
of the
darkness.
54
And
having seized
Him,
they
led
Him
away,
and
led
Him
into the
house
of the
high priest.
And
Peter
was following
afar off.
55
And they having kindled
a fire
in
the
midst
of the
courtyard,
and
having sat down together,
Peter
was sitting
among
them.
56
And a certain
servant girl,
having seen
him
sitting
by
the
light,
and
having looked intently on
him, said, This one also was with Him.
57
But
he denied
it
,
saying, Woman, I do not know Him.
58
And
after
a little,
having seen
him,
another
was saying,
You also
are
of them. But
Peter
was saying,
Man, I am not.
59
And
about
one
hour
having elapsed, a certain
other
strongly affirmed
it
,
saying,
Of a truth,
this one
also
was with Him; for he is
also
a Galilean.
60
But
Peter
said, Man, I do not know
what
you say. And
immediately
while
he
was speaking,
the rooster
crowed.
61
And having turned, the
Lord
looked at
Peter
, and
Peter
remembered
the
word
of the
Lord
,
how
He had said to him, Before
the
rooster
crows
today,
you will deny
Me three times.
62
And
having gone forth
outside,
he wept
bitterly.
63
And the
men
who
are holding
Him
began mocking
Him,
beating
Him
.
64
And
having blindfolded
Him,
they were questioning
Him
,
saying, Prophesy,
who
is the
one
having struck
You?
65
And
they were saying
many
other things
to
Him,
blaspheming.
66
And
when
it became
day,
the
elderhood
of the
people
were gathered together,
both
chief priests
and
scribes,
and
they led
Him into their
council,
saying,
67
If You
are
the
Christ,
tell us. And He said to them, If I should tell you, you would not believe,
68
and
if
I should ask
you
,
you would not answer.
69
But
from
now on
the
Son
of Man
will be
sitting
at
the
right hand of the
power
of God.
70
And they all said, Are You
then
the
Son
of God? And
He was saying
to them, You say that I am.
71
And
they said,
What
need
do we have
of any more
witness?
For
we ourselves
have heard
it
from His mouth.
