Neuter of a presumed derivative of kore (a maiden); a (little) girl -- damsel, maid.
KJV: He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
NASB: He said, "Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep." And they began laughing at Him.
KJV: But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
NASB: But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.
KJV: And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
NASB: And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.
KJV: And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
NASB: Taking the child by the hand, He said to her, "Talitha kum!" (which translated means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!").
KJV: And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
