KJV: How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
NASB: "How long will you torment me And crush me with words?
KJV: But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
NASB: "I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, Who have said to you, 'Lie down that we may walk over you.' You have even made your back like the ground And like the street for those who walk over it."
KJV: The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate: her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she is in bitterness.
NASB: The roads of Zion are in mourning Because no one comes to the appointed feasts. All her gates are desolate; Her priests are groaning, Her virgins are afflicted, And she herself is bitter.
KJV: Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
NASB: Her adversaries have become her masters, Her enemies prosper; For the LORD has caused her grief Because of the multitude of her transgressions; Her little ones have gone away As captives before the adversary.
KJV: Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
NASB: "Is it nothing to all you who pass this way? Look and see if there is any pain like my pain Which was severely dealt out to me, Which the LORD inflicted on the day of His fierce anger.
KJV: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
NASB: For if He causes grief, Then He will have compassion According to His abundant lovingkindness.
KJV: For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
NASB: For He does not afflict willingly Or grieve the sons of men.
KJV: I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
NASB: "I will gather those who grieve about the appointed feasts-- They came from you, O Zion; The reproach of exile is a burden on them.
