A primitive root; to rend, i.e. Open (especially the mouth) -- deliver, gape, open, rid, utter.
KJV: And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
NASB: "Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.
KJV: But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
