It was found written what Mordecai had reported concerning Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's eunuchs who were doorkeepers, that they had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.

So the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your power, only spare his life."

If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.

If I sin, then You would take note of me, And would not acquit me of my guilt.

Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.

"You put my feet in the stocks And watch all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet,

For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?

"For now You number my steps, You do not observe my sin.

Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
NASB:
"Will you keep to the ancient path Which wicked men have trod,
KJV:
My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
NASB:
"My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.
