Or mephrathah {ef-raw'-thaw}; from parah; fruitfulness; Ephrath, another name for Bethlehem; once (Psa. 132:6) perhaps for Ephraim; also of an Israelitish woman -- Ephrath, Ephratah.

KJV: And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
NASB: Then they journeyed from Bethel; and when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and she suffered severe labor.
KJV: And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
NASB: So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).
