Of uncertain affinity; to be chary of, i.e. (subjectively) to abstain or (objectively) to treat leniently -- forbear, spare.
KJV: For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
NASB: "I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;
KJV: He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
