From leizomai (to plunder); a brigand -- robber, thief.
KJV: And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
NASB: And He said to them, "It is written, 'MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER'; but you are making it a ROBBERS' DEN."
KJV: In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
NASB: At that time Jesus said to the crowds, "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would against a robber? Every day I used to sit in the temple teaching and you did not seize Me.
KJV: Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
NASB: At that time two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left.
KJV: The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
