A primitive root; properly, to grate, i.e. (figuratively) to anger -- contend, meddle, stir up, strive.
KJV: Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession.
NASB: do not provoke them, for I will not give you any of their land, even as little as a footstep because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.
