NASB:
"You shall say to them, 'This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the LORD their God or accept correction; truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.
KJV:
But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
NASB:
But they are altogether stupid and foolish In their discipline of delusion-- their idol is wood!
KJV:
But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
NASB:
"Yet they did not listen or incline their ears, but stiffened their necks in order not to listen or take correction.
KJV:
All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.
NASB:
All your lovers have forgotten you, They do not seek you; For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, With the punishment of a cruel one, Because your iniquity is great And your sins are numerous.
KJV:
And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
NASB:
"They have turned their back to Me and not their face; though I taught them, teaching again and again, they would not listen and receive instruction.
KJV:
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
NASB:
"Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Go and say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, "Will you not receive instruction by listening to My words?" declares the LORD.
KJV:
So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
NASB:
'So it will be a reproach, a reviling, a warning and an object of horror to the nations who surround you when I execute judgments against you in anger, wrath and raging rebukes. I, the LORD, have spoken.
KJV:
And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
NASB:
The revolters have gone deep in depravity, But I will chastise all of them.
KJV:
She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
NASB:
She heeded no voice, She accepted no instruction. She did not trust in the LORD, She did not draw near to her God.
KJV:
I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
NASB:
"I said, 'Surely you will revere Me, Accept instruction.' So her dwelling will not be cut off According to all that I have appointed concerning her. But they were eager to corrupt all their deeds.
