Neuter of alabastros (of uncertain derivation), the name of a stone; properly, an "alabaster" box, i.e. (by extension) a perfume vase (of any material) -- (alabaster) box.
KJV: There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
NASB: a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it on His head as He reclined at the table.
