KJV: For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
NASB: For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
KJV: This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
NASB: It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
KJV: And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
NASB: And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,
KJV: Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
NASB: You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

NASB: It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven-- things into which angels long to look.
KJV: And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
NASB: And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.
