KJV: So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.
NASB: Then they sat down on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights with no one speaking a word to him, for they saw that his pain was very great.
KJV: If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
NASB: "If one ventures a word with you, will you become impatient? But who can refrain from speaking?
KJV: Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.
NASB: "Now a word was brought to me stealthily, And my ear received a whisper of it.

NASB: "Shall a multitude of words go unanswered, And a talkative man be acquitted?
KJV: Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
NASB: "Should he argue with useless talk, Or with words which are not profitable?
KJV: Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
NASB: "Are the consolations of God too small for you, Even the word spoken gently with you?
KJV: Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
NASB: "Is there no limit to windy words? Or what plagues you that you answer?
KJV: But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
NASB: "If you say, 'How shall we persecute him?' And 'What pretext for a case against him can we find?'
