From an unused root (probably meaning to be mute); properly, a dumb beast; especially any large quadruped or animal (often collective) -- beast, cattle.
KJV: And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
NASB: Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind"; and it was so.
