A primitive root; to mark out, i.e. (primitive) scratch or (definite) imprint -- scrabble, set (a mark).
KJV: And he changed his behaviour before them, and feigned himself mad in their hands, and scrabbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.
NASB: So he disguised his sanity before them, and acted insanely in their hands, and scribbled on the doors of the gate, and let his saliva run down into his beard.
