A primitive root; to toil, i.e. Work severely and with irksomeness -- (take) labour (in).
KJV: {A Song of degrees for Solomon.} Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
NASB: A Song of Ascents, of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.
KJV: He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
