1
Children,
obey
your
parents
in
the
Lord, for
this
is
right.
2
Honor your
Father
and mother,
which
is
the
first
commandment
with a promise,
3
that it may be
well
with you and you will be
long-lived
upon the earth.
4
And fathers, do not
provoke
your children, but
bring them up
in
the
discipline
and
admonition
of
the
Lord.
5
Slaves,
obey
the
earthly
masters
with
fear
and
trembling,
in
sincerity
of your
heart
as to Christ,
6
not
with
eye-service
as men-pleasers, but as
servants of
Christ,
doing
the
will
of God
from
the
heart,
7
rendering service
with
good will
as to the
Lord
and not to men,
8
knowing that each one, whatever
good
he might have done,
this
he will receive
back
from
the
Lord,
whether
he is
slave
or
free.
9
And
master
s
do
the same things
toward
them,
giving up
threatening,
k
no
wing that also their
master
and
yours
is in
the
heavens,
and there is
no
partiality with Him.
10
Henceforth
be empowered
in
the
Lord
and in the
strength
of His
might.
11
Put on
the
complete armor
of God,
for
you
to be able
to stand
against
the
schemes
of the devil,
12
because to us
the
wrestling
is not
against
blood
and
flesh,
but
against
the
rulers,
against
the
authorities,
against
the
cosmic powers
of
this
darkness,
against
the
spiritual
forces
of evil
in
the
heavenly realms.
13
Because of
this,
take up
the
complete armor
of God,
so that
you may be able
to withstand
in
the
evil
day, and having done all things,
to stand.
14
St
and
therefore,
having girded your
loins
with
truth,
and
having put on
the
breastplate
of righteousness,
15
and
having shod
the
feet
with
the
readiness
of the
gospel
of peace;
16
besides
all
,
having taken up
the
shield
of faith
with
which
you will be able
to quench
all
the flaming
arrows
of the
evil one.
17
And
take
the
helmet
of salvation
and the
sword
of the Spirit,
which
is
the
word
of God,
18
through
all
prayer
and
supplication
,
praying
in
the
Spirit
in
every
season
and
unto
this very thing,
watching
with
all
perseverance
and
supplication
for
all
saints,
19
and also
for
me, that in
the
opening
of my
mouth,
divine utterance
may be given
to me
to make known
with
boldness
the
mystery
of the gospel,
20
for
which
I am an ambassador
in
a chain,
that in it
I may be bold,
as
it behooves
me
to speak.
21
And that you also may know
the
things
concerning
me,
what
I am doing, Tychicus,
the
beloved
brother
and
faithful
servant
in
the
Lord,
will make known
to you all things,
22
whom
I have sent
to you for
this very
purpose,
that
you may know
the things
concerning
us, and
he may encourage
your
hearts.
23
Peace
to the
brothers
and
love
with
faith
from
God
the
Father
and
the
Lord
Jesus
Christ.
24
Grace
be
with
all
those
loving
our
Lord
Jesus
Christ in
incorruptibility.
