Spiritual warfare Part 2 Can a Christian have a demon?

I am with Dylan Browning for a series on Spiritual Warfare. Dylan also studies scripture to live a praiseworthy life to God with Biblestudycompany.com. Dylan came from a Pentecostal/charismatic background and encountered a man who believes Christians can have demons. He recently attended this man’s conference and came back with some questions on spiritual warfare. My challenge was this; let’s study what you currently know about this topic in the Bible, and then we can have a podcast. He eagerly decided on the bible study! After his research, we met several times to hone the podcast.

Here are some of our topics:
Can believers who are born again have a demon? What happens when the Holy Spirit comes into us? Are there generational curses, and what about “soul ties”? What is our role in spiritual warfare? Is spiritual warfare offensive (we go on the attack) or defensive in nature? Are humans three parts: body, soul, spirit, or two parts? When Christians pray about binding, is this biblical? How and what do we pray for people when we encounter demons? Does repentance play a role in deliverance?

What a wonderful, on-point and practical lesson. God bless you two. Made my day to see this, and impressed with how concise you made it. The people of God need more men doing this. I see more why God orders things as He does recently. I started kind of wondering how much we were hindering men as a society when I watched “The Curse of Oak Isle”. Funny I know, but I hadn’t seen how men work together so well. I just noticed how the men came to understandings to get things done logically, decisively, and naturally. Completely different dynamic than I had seen or experienced. Then, here, I see an example of Godly men that confirmed He wants me to think differently. Totally changing my perspective from because God says so to because the people of God need this kind of clarity and direction. Happy for the people of God and hoping all believing men have this kind of friendship. Off topic and a bit weird, I know, but the clarity and direction for me had a sense of authority and confidence. I really think I didn’t understand we’re missing this in the body of believers because we’re out of order and inadvertently hindering the men of God I think. It’s same as what you say about order in terms of spiritual warfare - if you have the order right, you’re kind of fighting without fighting because it’s a spiritual battle. Do what God says and you win without trying. So simple and easy, it’s almost scary. Really different way of seeing things because it’s spiritual. Anyway, this was educational on several levels for me.
