A primitive root; to throw out, down or away (literally or figuratively) -- adventure, cast (away, down, forth, off, out), hurl, pluck, throw.
KJV: And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
NASB: When the water in the skin was used up, she left the boy under one of the bushes.
KJV: Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
