Of uncertain (perhaps foreign) origin; byssos, i.e. Bleached linen (the cloth or a garment of it) -- (fine) linen (cloth).
KJV: And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
NASB: And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
KJV: And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:
NASB: A young man was following Him, wearing nothing but a linen sheet over his naked body; and they seized him.
KJV: And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.
NASB: But he pulled free of the linen sheet and escaped naked.
